Patient scammed with 8 teeth not touching on a full mouth restoration of all porcelain teeth

Original review updated May 08, 2025

A 37 year old West Michigan man named Doran Baker used the SmileMichigan find a dentist tool which is owned and operated by the Michigan Dental Association and spent over $50,000 on a full mouth restoration through one of there members which consisted of 24 all porcelain teeth and was left with 8 of the 24 not even touching.

It is a complete fraud... Only 1 week after this full restoration a bridge became loose a crown became loose and another permanent crown fell completely off and the dentist was never willing to fix anything so a peer review complaint was filed but the whole board is friends with Dr Larrissa Bishop the past president of the dental society and the board members just couldn't be unbiased.

The SmileMichigan find a dentist tool endorsed there members and advertised that the MDA dentists are dedicated to upholding the highest standard of practice so that you and your family can receive the best oral care.

The MDA advertised that they are dedicated to ensuring that Michigan residents receive the highest quality oral health care and

How can the MDA allow there member to leave a patient with 8 teeth not touching after a full mouth restoration. This should be illegal and if it's not made right then people should be prosecuted. Coverup after coverup because Dr. Larissa Bishop is the past president of the West Michigan District Dental Society that decided this case and there is major conflicts of interest with at-least 10 of the board committee members and they are all friends.

The Michigan Dental Association is continuing to allow there member Dr.

Rebecca Vanderbaan and Dr Larissa Bishop from Grandville Dental Health Center to get away with a backwards placed dental crown tooth #3 completely backwards then made several adjustments until 8 porcelain teeth are not even touching then left him with a backward dental crown until he found out from another dentist 1 year later.

The MDA isn't even following their own guidelines and bylaws and should reopen this case because it's not going away as long as this patients teeth aren't touching.

The MDA needs to help this patient get 4 crowns remade so his teeth are touching it's really that simple otherwise it's completely false advertising on the Michigan Dental Associations part.

The Michigan Dental Association should go back and look at the Suppressed Photo #120 which is the photo that Chris Wilson, RDA, from peer review at the dental association says was weirdly missing from there files and re-open this case so this patient can get his teeth fixed. Stop covering up for the president of the WMDDS West Michigan District Dental Society and do your job.

The dental association is not upholding there members to the highest standard of practice so that you and your family can receive the best oral care as they advertise to the public.

Dr. Sarah Palmer through a biased clinical exam through the Michigan Dental Association with Dr. Palmer where the doctor from Grandville Dental Health Center that did the work was present.

Dr. Sarah Palmer was bribing me with a check to sign a release form to say the doctor did nothing wrong. Who offers a check to someone before the clinical exam even took place. I was no way taking a few thousand dollar check because I wanted to know why me teeth are breaking after a $54,000 full mouth restoration of all porcelain teeth but instead the doctor took a fake exam and didn't take any bite checks or x-rays and failed to diagnose 8 teeth not touching and a backwards dental crown then gives inaccurate information to the dental society to decided my case.

Because of this doctor and the two other doctors that gave a fake exam and their failure to be non-biased this patient is unable to get his teeth fixed and was left with a botched dental treatment because Dr. Sarah Palmer doesn't know how to do a thorough examination

On top of all of this through Facebook and Instagram the doctors were incentivizing hundreds of google reviews without disclosing it just before I went to them.

They were giving away gift cards, concert tickets and several flat screen TV's through lottery style drawings by incentivizing google reviews in exchange for an entry for a chance to win prizes. There is a clear video of one of the dental assistance drawing to win a TV showing hundreds of entries and everyone of those were incentives google reviews that never had any type of disclosure on them.

These doctors have falsified there reputation within our community.

Grandville Dental Has Ignored Any Attempts At Contacting Their Office.

Original review updated Feb 06, 2025
Dr. Larissa Bishop & Dr Rebecca Vander Baan Discharged me in pain with a backward crown and broke their contract.

I've spent over $50,000 on a full mouth restoration through Grandville Dental Health Center plus another $4,000 figuring out issues and it took over a year but I found out they messed up by placing a crown 180 degrees backwards and wrecked my full restoration then abandon me for no reason because they couldn't figure it out.
Permanent adjustments were made to teeth #5, #6, #7, #26, #27 and #28 all based on a crown tooth number 3 being placed backwards and then let me go with a non-functioning bite. I have recently been diagnosed with no occlusal contact on restorations in the 3-6 position (diagnosis of occlusal dysfunction) and extensive bone loss surrounding my implants only 3 months after my permanent crowns were placed.
How did this dentist miss a crown 180 degrees backwards then make several adjustments to the adjacent teeth on several occasions until there was no bite on 8 teeth then be allowed to illegally abandon and illegally discharge a patient without proper procedures and in pain and for no reason other than there failure to diagnose their own mistake... It's very sad that money is the power of all evil and I cannot get my teeth fixed because the doctors that did this only seem to care about the money and not about solving the issues. While I sit here and need my teeth fixed.
This was Dental Malpractice and Abandonment at its' greatest and I now need just over $19,000 to fix my mouth so I can chew on both sides.

A Bridge became loose, A veneer chipped, A crown fell off, another crown became loose, 8 teeth are not touching each other and I have bone loss on several new implants caused from this and I'm not happy that the dentist won't fix there mistakes when it's this obvious it's there fault, there's no denying this.

Instead points fingers at their own lab and their oral surgeon. I've spent almost $5,000 just figuring out what went wrong and I want a full refund $30,800 I paid to this dentist because they illegally discharged me and broke
